The Forum Assemblies

UnitedCities proposes a new scheme of world order: a capital fixed nowhere and a vote you can watch floating in the air.

The cities that survived the Great Flood were left without nation-states, swept away by the water. And that same water which once drew borders now links towns and cities under a single world government.

Its capital, Nagara, is not fixed in one place. It is an enormous floating, itinerant city that travels the globe, establishing a new relationship of proximity between people and power.

A vote you can see

Its form of government is original. It combines a body of 3,000 ambassadors in a great Forum at the heart of Nagara with a system of direct, visual voting from the local assemblies of every village or city.

Each village has its own holographic sphere, floating at the center of the Forum above the ambassadors as they speak. If a sphere settles over an ambassador, that village agrees with what is being said. If it drifts away, it dissents. And it can settle over any ambassador who is speaking, not only its own.

This way, villages that never crossed paths can end up backing the same representative. When many spheres converge on one ambassador, they merge into a single great sphere. That proposal wins the vote.

What happens when power no longer concentrates in one place, but is proven every time someone chooses to agree?

The Extraordinary Assemblies

Major decisions call for the Extraordinary Assemblies. They happen in real time, turning the Forum session into an Assembly of local Assemblies.

This is what we see in the trailer: many holographic spheres gathering over a single point to give their consent.
